We all use a mode of transportation to get from point A to point B, whether it be by foot, by train, by plan, by car or bicycle. Hey! You may hop or skip everywhere you go -- but there's one thing we all have in common no matter what our 'mode' of transportation is -- we encounter situations, people, transfers and awkward moments that make for good stories. And sometimes when we are at work or after a long day we like to unwind by hearing and watching stories... that's why we are addicted to movies, books and tv right? That's why we 'twitter' with our friends no?
So this is your avenue to share your Transit Story with the rest of us. Give us a laugh. A tear. Let us in on the joke. Maybe you just need to vent about the ridiculous amount of connections you had to make or the detour you had to take. Or your car broke down and there was a crazier turn of events OR you hitchhiked home... Blow your hot air this way! ;-)
The outline for how this works is below. We'll tweak it as necessary and I'll update you if the methodology changes. And for those of you who aren't anti-twitter, you can also follow us on Twitter @transitstories
1. Have a story about your transit experience.
2. Submit your story to transitstory@gmail.com
3. Watch via Twitter or by ctrl+R or follow the blog for your story to be posted (we're tryingto repost before the end of the day! The more real time the better)
4. Read other people's stories while you wait.
5. Leave comments about other people's stories to encourage them to write again! You want them to read yours don't you?
6. Laugh a lot. Feel the pain. Pass it on the link to your friends. (And if you're a real social media junky and you love a particular post -- Retweet, Digg, Reddit or stumbleupon it! ;)
7. Come back often!
8. Try to keep the posts as 'clean' as possible. Let's not be crude or offensive. I don't want to impose edits or even not post a story you took the time to share.
9. Get back to work! haha ;-)
10. Get back to transit-ting so we can have another story!
Alrighty. You get to posting cause I don't want to be the only person sharing my hot air of stories... although I know we have many!
